Smaller, slender, grave

Other people have smaller fingers
slender grave pincers
and they move fragments around.
The smallest
reposition dust to achieve a fine result.
Not children. I’m not
talking about children or
woodland creatures.
Other grown ups.
Living in crash pads
with thatched chairs and
acoustic proto-guitars
hung by the door.
Look at them. Look
at their work.

This is great. It reminds me of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock’s measurement of life in coffee spoons, but with more of an edge. There, it was just wasted time…..
    (I just wish I knew what a proto-guitar is…..)

agree, well done. you are often at your best when there is a slice of a situation, and a story. really enjoyed inclusion of ‘woodland creatures.’
