Stacks of digital photography books

And a long line of
enthusiastic
neatly dressed
retirees.
They're pressing toward the front.
And now they're strip-mining the table
saying:
   tell me
sell me
         how to stop time.

So *that’s* what’s driving the market!
I read it as “tell me/tell me” at first; really dug the “tell me/SELL me” when I picked it up. The strip-mining’s vivid too.
Do they want to buy some wood?

wonderful confluence of time, age and photography. ‘tell me, sell me’ twangs beautifully.
“-Man: “Oh! Well, never mind. Dib dib? Is your uh, is your wife interested in … PHOTOGRAPHY, ay? photographs, ay’, he asked him knowingly?”
    Squire: “Photography?”
-Man: “Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more?”
    -Squire: “Holiday snaps, eh?”
-Man: “They could be, they could be taken on holiday. Candid, you know, CANDID photography?”
-Squire: “No, no I’m afraid we don’t have a camera.”
-Man: Oh. (leeringly) “Still, mooooooh, ay? Hohohohohohoo, ay? Hohohohohoho, ay?”
-Squire: “Look … are you insinuating something?”
-Man: “Oh, no, no, no … yes.”
