A while back I posted a poem or two by my daughter Shonny. Here&#8217;s one from my six-year-old son. He doesn&#8217;t really talk like this, but every once in a while he&#8217;ll belt out a non-rhyming song, sort of like a libretto, and these words will come out from somewhere, and I&#8217;ll scramble to write them down. He tells me this one is about dreaming.<br \/>\nDawn in the midnight.<br \/>\nYou see the voices far.<br \/>\nYou see the big flying voices<br \/>\nand the beautiful light that I guard.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s very like life.<br \/>\nYou see the beautiful midnight sky<br \/>\nand the beautiful voices.<br \/>\nYou have lots of fun but&#8230;<br \/>\nyou don&#8217;t know the ways<br \/>\nof your life and the voices so far.<\/pre>\n<p>Oh beautiful sky.<br \/>\nYeah, dawn in the mid<u>night<\/u>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kids write the darndest verse.
