[headline]About Project[/headline]
As part of my role as a web producer for O’Reilly Media’s Missing Manual book series, I served as a project manager on a very unique project. O’Reilly has been a leader in bridging the print-digital divide among book publishers. They were among the first to convert their books to a usable XML format known as XSLT. After publishing “Wikipedia: The Missing Manual” we set about the work of converting the book from XSLT to Mediawiki format to the specific version of Mediawiki format used by Wikipedia to integrate it into the site’s help section. This required me to serve as a liaison between internal O’Reilly developers, the book’s author and the Wikimedia foundation.
